Virginia Tech Hokies Narrowly Defeated at Littlejohn Coliseum by Clemson Tigers

The Virginia Tech Hokies, ranked 7th, faced a challenging contest against the unranked Clemson Tigers at Littlejohn Coliseum. The Hokies' record now stands at 59-64 against the Tigers in a game that saw both teams fiercely competing until the final buzzer.

The Virginia Tech Hokies started strong with 16 points in the first quarter but struggled to maintain their momentum, scoring only 10 points in the second. They regained some ground with 15 and 18 points in the third and fourth quarters respectively. Despite their efforts, they fell short of victory. The team's shooting was below their usual standard; they made just 37 percent of field goals and were successful on only nine out of twenty-eight three-point attempts for a three-point percentage of thirty-two.


Virginia Tech's players fought hard on defense but did not record any blocks throughout the game. They managed to steal six times from their opponents and provided twelve assists over four quarters. Personal fouls were an issue for them as they committed eighteen throughout the game which may have contributed to their loss.

Clemson's defensive effort included two blocks and eleven steals while drawing twenty-one personal fouls from Virginia Tech players which is slightly higher than what was committed by them. Their rebounding was superior with forty-one total rebounds including seventeen offensive ones leading to nineteen second-chance points.
