The recent statistics tell a story of dominance by Virginia Tech. In their last game on January 12 against Miami (FL) Hurricanes, VT showcased their offensive prowess with a commanding 76-52 victory. Their shooting was efficient from both inside and beyond the arc, hitting 39 percent from the field and an impressive 35 percent from three-point range. But it wasn't just their scoring that caught attention; VT's defense was stifling, forcing 17 turnovers and converting those into 18 points.

VT's performance against North Carolina State Wolfpack on January 7 further cements their status as contenders. In a nail-biting finish, VT edged out NCST with a one-point win (63-62). This game highlighted VT's resilience and ability to maintain composure under pressure—a trait that will be invaluable against FSU.

Looking back at another recent matchup on January 4 versus Wake Forest Demon Deacons provides even more insight into VT's capabilities. Scoring an astounding 82 points while maintaining high shooting percentages across the board—55 percent in field goals and an exceptional 45 percent in three-pointers—VT demonstrated they could run up the score while also playing solid defense.

The Seminoles should not be underestimated though; they have shown tenacity in past games and will have home-court advantage this time around. However, given VT’s recent form which includes strong defensive plays complemented by high-scoring offense led by key players who seem to thrive under pressure—it appears likely that Virginia Tech could emerge victorious once again.

Fans eager to support Virginia Tech can mark their calendars for January 14 at 1:00 PM when these two teams clash in Tallahassee at Donald L. Tucker Civic Center. The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN channel number two hundred six for all those who can't make it but still want to catch every moment of what is sure to be an enthralling battle between two formidable opponents.
