Clash at Alaska Airlines Arena: Washington Huskies vs Saint Mary's Gaels in Women's Basketball Showdown

As the Washington Huskies prepare to host the Saint Mary's Gaels at the Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be an electrifying game of women's basketball. The Huskies, coming off a string of impressive performances, look poised to continue their winning ways.

Washington Huskies VS Eastern Washington Eagles

In their last outing on December 10 against the Washington State Cougars, WASH showcased a balanced attack and a resilient defense. Despite scoring only 60 points, they managed to secure a win by maintaining a strong defensive presence that limited the Cougars' scoring opportunities. With an assist-turnover ratio of 0.82 and shooting 54 percent from beyond the arc, it was their perimeter play that truly shined through.

The Huskies' ability to control the paint was also evident in their game on December 6 against Montana State Bobcats where they scored 28 points in the paint and grabbed an impressive total of 38 rebounds. Their defensive prowess was highlighted by four blocks and seven steals while converting turnovers into critical points.

Against San Francisco Dons on December 2, WASH demonstrated sheer dominance with a commanding victory where they put up 63 points while holding their opponents to just 39. The team showed great efficiency from two-point range with a shooting percentage of around 56 percent and outrebounded San Francisco significantly with a total rebound count of 44.

The upcoming match against SMC is expected to be no different as WASH has been consistently improving its play on both ends of the court. The Gaels will need to bring their A-game if they hope to challenge this well-rounded Husky squad that seems determined not only to win but also dominate its opponents.

With such momentum behind them, it would not be surprising if WASH extends its winning streak further when they face off against Saint Mary’s Gaels. Fans should expect another strong performance characterized by tenacious defense and efficient scoring from all areas of the court.

Mark your calendars for December 16th at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle where tip-off is scheduled for late afternoon local time (4:00 PM PST). For those unable to attend in person, details regarding broadcast options will likely emerge closer to game day – stay tuned for updates so you don't miss any action from what promises to be another thrilling encounter in women’s college basketball!
