Wyoming Cowgirls Set to Host Colorado State Rams at Arena-Auditorium

As the Wyoming Cowgirls prepare to face off against the Colorado State Rams at the Arena-Auditorium, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be an electrifying game. The upcoming match scheduled for January 20th is expected to showcase the resilience and skill of a team that has seen its fair share of ups and downs this season.

Colorado State Rams VS Wyoming Cowgirls

The WYO's performance in their recent games has been a mixed bag, but there are positive takeaways that suggest they could have an edge over CSU. Despite falling short against Eastern Washington Eagles on December 22nd with a score of 43-62, the Cowgirls demonstrated a solid two-point shooting percentage at 50 percent and were able to score 30 points in the paint. However, turnovers were their Achilles' heel as they gave up possession 20 times which translated into points for their opponents.

In contrast, when WYO played Wright State Raiders on December 21st, they emerged victorious with a score of 71-61. Their field goal percentage was impressive at approximately 53 percent and even more noteworthy was their performance from inside the arc where they shot nearly 63 percent. Dominating both offensive and defensive rebounds with a total count of 45 compared to Wright State's mere 23 showed that when WYO controls the boards, they control the game.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing; turnovers continued to plague them as they coughed up possession another staggering number of times –18– which is something they'll need to tighten up against CSU if they want to maintain control throughout all four quarters.

Looking back further into December on the game against Montana State Bobcats on December 17th where WYO scored only five points in Q1 but managed an overall decent recovery ending with a final score of Wyoming's own defense was also commendable during this matchup as evidenced by six blocks and ten steals contributing significantly towards keeping them within striking distance throughout much of this contest despite ultimately losing by nine points (55-64).

The key takeaway here is consistency; if WYO can maintain their shooting efficiency while simultaneously reducing turnovers, there’s no reason why victory can’t be theirs come January's showdown. The Cowgirls have shown flashes of brilliance particularly in terms of rebounding strength and scoring inside which could prove pivotal against CSU who will undoubtedly come prepared for battle.
