Wyoming Cowgirls Set to Battle UNLV Rebels at Cox Pavilion

As the Wyoming Cowgirls prepare to face off against the UNLV Rebels at Cox Pavilion, fans are eager for what promises to be a thrilling encounter. The upcoming game, scheduled in Las Vegas, will test the mettle of the Cowgirls who have shown both flashes of brilliance and areas needing improvement in their recent outings.

Wyoming Cowboys VS UNLV Runnin' Rebels

The Wyoming Cowgirls' performance has been a rollercoaster ride this season. In their last game on December 22nd against Eastern Washington Eagles, they struggled with turnovers and shooting efficiency from beyond the arc. Scoring only 43 points with a three-point percentage of just 13 percent and committing 20 turnovers is concerning. However, it's not all doom and gloom for WYO fans; they managed to sink half of their two-point attempts and grabbed an impressive 31 rebounds.

Contrastingly, on December 21st against Wright State Raiders, WYO showed what they are capable of when things click into place. They put up a robust defense with four blocks while dominating offensively with an outstanding field goal percentage of nearly 53 percent leading them to score 71 points. Their ability to control the paint was evident as they scored a whopping 42 points inside while also capitalizing on second-chance opportunities by scoring 22 points following offensive rebounds.

However, consistency is key in basketball, and that's something that WYO needs to work on as evidenced by their performance against Montana State Bobcats on December 17th where they lost despite having six blocks and ten steals which shows defensive prowess but still fell short due mainly due again to turnovers (20) which seems like an ongoing issue for them this season.

The UNLV Rebels will not make it easy for them either; being at home gives them an advantage that cannot be overlooked. The Rebels' ability to force turnovers could spell trouble for WYO if they haven't addressed this glaring issue in practice sessions leading up to this game.

As we look ahead towards February's showdown between these two teams under the bright lights of Cox Pavilion – one thing is certain: if Wyoming can harness their demonstrated offensive firepower while tightening up ball security – there’s potential for victory despite recent stumbles.

Fans should mark their calendars for February 1st when these two teams clash at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas at precisely half-past eight PM local time (8:30 PM). For those unable or preferring not attend live – unfortunately no broadcast networks have been announced yet but stay tuned closer date more information regarding streaming options may become available.
