In contrast to Wyoming’s ten steals, San Diego State managed twelve steals along with seven assists indicating that both teams were closely matched in terms of defense and ball movement. The home team also capitalized on second-chance opportunities scoring ten second-chance points thanks largely due to their offensive rebounding where they grabbed ten boards against Wyoming’s five.

The fourth quarter proved decisive as San Diego State surged ahead scoring twenty-five points while holding Wyoming down to just twelve points during this period leading them towards victory despite being tied once and experiencing only one lead change during the entire game.
