Eagles and Browns Battle to a Draw at Lincoln Financial Field

The Cleveland Browns and the Philadelphia Eagles both entered the second week of the preseason with high hopes, but neither team could outdo the other as they ended in an 18-18 deadlock. The Browns now hold a record of 0-1-1, while the Eagles sit at 1-0-1 for the preseason.

In front of a packed crowd at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, both teams displayed strong defensive efforts. The Cleveland Browns' defense was particularly notable with six sacks and nine quarterback hits. They also forced three three-and-outs, showcasing their ability to disrupt Philadelphia's offensive rhythm. A safety added two points to their score, reflecting their defensive dominance throughout the game.

The Browns' punting unit had a busy day on special teams with six attempts totaling 307 yards and managing to pin two kicks inside the Eagles' 20-yard line. On offense, despite some struggles in converting red zone opportunities into touchdowns – evident from zero percent success rate in both red zone and goal-to-go situations – they still managed to accumulate significant yardage with 399 total yards.

Cleveland's passing game saw them attempt nearly fifty passes for an average of almost six yards per attempt. Their longest completion was for thirty-six yards contributing to one touchdown pass that spanned thirty-two yards into the endzone. However, it wasn't just through air where they made strides; on ground too they pushed forward gaining an average of over three yards per carry across thirty-three rushing attempts.

Special mention goes out to Cleveland's field goal kicking which proved crucial in keeping them level on points with Philadelphia; connecting on three out of four attempts including two from beyond forty-nine yards.

As fans look ahead, The Cleveland Browns will next face off against Kansas City Chiefs at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on August 26th at 5:00 PM local time. This upcoming matchup can be viewed live by fans via NFL Network satellite channel number two hundred twelve.
