Cleveland Browns Defense Struggles as Baltimore Ravens Dominate with Ground Game

The Cleveland Browns faced a challenging matchup against the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium, resulting in a 41-17 defeat. This loss leaves the Browns with a record of 0-2, while the Ravens improve to 1-1.

First Quarter

The game began with both teams testing each other's defenses. The Dawg Pound's defense showed some promise early on, forcing three-and-outs on four occasions throughout the game. However, their efforts were overshadowed by the Flock's offensive prowess. The first quarter saw Myles Garrett making his presence felt with 1.5 sacks and two quarterback hits, but it wasn't enough to contain Baltimore's offense.

Second Quarter

As the second quarter unfolded, Cleveland struggled to maintain momentum on offense despite Joe Flacco completing 25 out of 45 passes for 199 yards and one touchdown. A pivotal moment came when Cameron Mitchell forced a fumble that could have shifted momentum in favor of the Brownies; however, they failed to capitalize on this opportunity.

Third Quarter

In the third quarter, Devin Bush contributed significantly with eight tackles and one sack for nine yards lost. Despite these defensive efforts from key players like Grant Delpit who defended one pass and made five combined tackles, Lamar Jackson led an impressive ground attack for Baltimore that proved too much for Cleveland's defense.

Fourth Quarter

The final period saw Dillon Gabriel stepping in briefly as quarterback for Cleveland where he completed all three attempts including an eight-yard touchdown pass—highlighting some potential depth within their roster moving forward into future games such as against Green Bay Packers scheduled at Huntington Bank Field next week (September 21st) airing live via FOX network coverage starting at approximately around noon Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).
