Cowboys Clash with Buccaneers at AT&T Stadium in Season Opener

As the Dallas Cowboys gear up to host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at AT&T Stadium, fans are anticipating a thrilling season opener. The Cowboys, coming off a previous season that showcased their offensive and defensive prowess, are looking to start strong against their formidable opponents.

Last season's data reveals that the Cowboys had an impressive red zone efficiency of 63 percent and were particularly lethal when it came to goal-to-go situations, converting over 82 percent of such opportunities. Their third-down conversion rate stood at a solid 43 percent, indicating their ability to sustain drives and control the game's tempo.

The passing game was a highlight for Dallas, with a completion percentage of nearly 69 percent and an average of over seven yards per attempt contributing to an overall passer rating of approximately 105. This aerial efficiency was complemented by a rushing attack that averaged close to four and a half yards per carry.

Special teams also played a crucial role for the Cowboys last year. The team boasted an average net punting yardage of around 44 yards while maintaining field goal accuracy at about 83 percent.

Defensively, Dallas proved formidable with 41 sacks and an impressive tally of 26 interceptions throughout the season. This defensive tenacity will be vital as they face off against Tampa Bay's offense.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing; ball security posed issues as evidenced by their total fumbles count reaching into double digits with nine lost fumbles. Additionally, penalties were another area where improvement could be sought after being flagged for infractions on more than one hundred occasions last year.

As we look ahead to this matchup on September 12th at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas – home advantage might play its part in setting the tone for what promises to be another exciting NFL campaign. Fans can catch all the action live on NBC starting from midnight UTC (8 PM Eastern Time).
