Broncos and Chargers Set for New Year's Eve Showdown at Empower Field

As the Denver Broncos prepare to host the Los Angeles Chargers on New Year's Eve, fans are looking forward to what promises to be an electrifying game at Empower Field at Mile High. The Broncos, coming off a nail-biting 23-26 loss against the New England Patriots on December 25th, will be eager to close out their season with a victory in front of their home crowd.

The previous encounter with the Patriots showcased a resilient Broncos team that fought hard until the final whistle. Despite being sacked five times, Denver's quarterback managed an impressive passer rating of 103.2 and connected on two touchdown passes while maintaining a completion percentage of 68. The rushing attack added another score but was limited to just 83 yards on 23 attempts.

Denver's defense was also noteworthy in that game, recording two sacks and forcing seven three-and-outs against New England. However, they'll need to tighten up after allowing over three hundred yards and losing two fumbles – mistakes they cannot afford against Los Angeles.

Looking back further into Week 14 when Denver faced off against these same Chargers in Inglewood, fans were treated to a dominant performance by the Broncos' defense which tallied six sacks and forced two fumbles while limiting LAC to only seven points. Offensively, Denver put up over three hundred total yards with both passing and rushing touchdowns contributing to their solid win.

The upcoming matchup presents an opportunity for redemption after their recent loss and another chance for Denver’s defense to stifle LAC’s offense as they did before. It will be crucial for DEN’s offensive line to protect their quarterback better than they did against NE if they want consistent drives downfield.

With playoff implications likely off the table for both teams given their records going into this game (DEN: eight wins-eight losses; LAC: five wins-nine losses), pride is still very much on the line as well as positions for next year.

Fans can catch this end-of-year clash scheduled for December 31st at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver with kickoff set for 2:25 PM Mountain Time (4:25 PM Eastern Time). The game will be broadcasted live on CBS – don't miss what could potentially be one of the most exciting games of Week 17!
