Clash at NRG Stadium: Houston Texans Set to Host Pittsburgh Steelers

As the Houston Texans gear up to host the Pittsburgh Steelers at NRG Stadium, there's a palpable sense of anticipation in the air. The Texans, coming off a decisive 37-17 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on September 24th, are looking to maintain their momentum against a formidable opponent.

The previous game showcased the Texans' offensive prowess with an impressive 366 total yards and four touchdowns. The passing game was particularly effective; with a completion percentage of 67 and an average of over nine yards per pass attempt, it's clear that when given time in the pocket, this team can make significant gains downfield. Moreover, their red zone efficiency stood at 40 percent – not stellar but enough to secure a win when combined with their overall performance.

On defense, they forced one interception and recovered one fumble against the Jaguars while also making five passes defended – signs of an opportunistic unit that can change games by creating turnovers. However, they'll need more consistency against Pittsburgh; during their September 10th loss to Baltimore Ravens (25-9), they allowed too many sacks and missed tackles which could be exploited by Steelers' offense if not addressed.

The rushing attack for Houston has been less than dominant but has shown flashes of potential. Against Jacksonville, they managed only an average of three yards per carry but still found ways to score on the ground. This facet will need improvement as balance is key in keeping defenses honest and controlling game tempo.

Special teams have been solid for HOU with kick returns averaging nearly fifty yards and field goal kicking being perfect during their last outing. These aspects often fly under radar but can be difference-makers in close contests.

Looking ahead to October 1st's matchup against Pittsburgh Steelers at NRG Stadium set for kickoff at noon local time (5:00 PM GMT), fans should expect HOU to lean heavily on its passing game while seeking greater balance through improved rushing efforts. Defensively, generating pressure without sacrificing coverage will be crucial in containing Steelers' own offensive threats.

Texans fans eager for another home victory should tune into CBS where they can witness whether HOU can capitalize on its strengths and address weaknesses effectively enough to overcome Pittsburgh's challenge.
