The Houston Texans improved their season record to 8-5 after a closely contested game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, who now stand at 2-10. In a match that kept fans on the edge of their seats until the final whistle, the Texans edged out the Jaguars with a score of 23-20.

The game was characterized by strategic plays and standout performances from both teams. The Houston Texans showcased their offensive capabilities through both air and ground attacks. Quarterback C.J. Stroud completed 22 out of 34 pass attempts, throwing for a total of 242 yards with an impressive completion rate of 65 percent and securing one touchdown pass. His connection with wide receiver Nico Collins was particularly noteworthy; Collins racked up 119 receiving yards on eight receptions.


On the ground, running back Joe Mixon played a pivotal role in balancing the Texans' offensive strategy. Mixon rushed for an impressive total of 101 yards across twenty attempts, including one touchdown run that contributed significantly to Houston's victory.

Special teams also played a crucial role in this tight matchup. Kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn was perfect on the day, contributing nine points through three successful field goal attempts, including a long shot from 53 yards out.


Defensive Standouts


The defense had its share of highlights as well, with Derek Stingley Jr.'s interception being one of them. This critical play not only halted a promising drive by the Jaguars but also showcased Stingley Jr.'s defensive prowess as he returned it for thirty-one yards.

Furthermore, Kamari Lassiter led defensively in tackles with six solo efforts and two assists but it was Tim Settle Jr.’s tackle for loss that highlighted Houston's defensive strength by limiting Jacksonville’s rushing options.
