In an intense battle at Highmark Stadium, the Indianapolis Colts showcased their offensive capabilities but fell short against the home team. Despite outperforming in several statistical categories, it was not enough to secure victory over the Buffalo Bills. The Colts' passing game was effective, with a completion percentage of approximately 65 percent resulting in three touchdowns and accumulating 218 yards through the air. Their defense also made significant contributions by intercepting three passes and recovering two fumbles.

The punting unit for the Colts had an average of nearly 53 yards across five attempts, contributing to field position battles throughout the game. However, they were only able to place one punt inside the opposing team's 20-yard line. On defense, they managed to sack Buffalo's quarterback twice for a loss of six yards and recorded two tackles for loss totaling seven yards.

Indianapolis' rushing attack added another dimension to their offense with over 100 total rushing yards on 26 attempts but failed to find their way into the end zone on ground plays. They also converted half of their fourth-down attempts but struggled slightly more on third down conversions with a success rate under forty percent.

The red zone efficiency stood out as one positive aspect for Indianapolis; they scored touchdowns on three out of four trips inside Buffalo's twenty-yard line. However, penalties proved costly as they gave up sixty-seven penalty yards over nine infractions which may have hindered some drives.

As for special teams performance beyond punting, while kickoffs covered over three hundred total yards across five kicks including two that reached into end zone territory; however none resulted in touchbacks which allowed return opportunities for Buffalo who gained substantial yardage in this phase.
