Jaguars Claw Victory at NRG Stadium Over Texans in Week 12 Showdown

The Jacksonville Jaguars, with an 8-3 record, secured a hard-fought victory over the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium. The final score read 24-21 in favor of the visitors, while the Texans' record fell to 6-5.

In a game that saw the Jaguars amass a total of 445 yards, their offensive unit was on full display. The passing game contributed significantly with quarterback throws totaling 364 yards and achieving a completion percentage of roughly 61 percent. Despite one interception thrown, they managed to connect for one touchdown pass and earned thirteen first downs through the air. The longest pass completed stretched for an impressive 57 yards.


The ground game added grit to the Jaguars' offense as well, chalking up 81 rushing yards over thirty attempts. Although they averaged just under three yards per carry, their efforts were enough to secure one rushing touchdown and five first downs. Special teams also played a pivotal role in this matchup. The Jaguars executed field goals with precision, making three out of four attempts with the longest being from fifty-three yards out. Their kickoff team ensured that all six kickoffs resulted in touchbacks.


Defensively, Jacksonville made its presence felt by recording four sacks and seven quarterback hits which contributed to thirty-seven lost sack-yards for Houston. They forced five tackles for loss totaling thirty-seven negative yardage against their opponents and successfully stopped one fourth-down attempt by Houston.


On penalties, Jacksonville maintained discipline throughout most of the contest by conceding only six penalties for thirty-five penalty-yards which translated into just one first down due to penalties.
