Chargers' Efforts Fall Short Against Steelers at Acrisure Stadium

In a challenging Week 3 matchup, the Los Angeles Chargers faced off against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium, concluding with a score of 10-20. The Chargers now stand at 2-1 for the season, while the Steelers maintain an undefeated record of 3-0. Despite their efforts, the Chargers were unable to secure a victory on the road.

Key Moments and Performances


The game was marked by intense defensive plays from both sides. The Los Angeles defense managed to sack Pittsburgh's quarterback twice and recorded eight tackles for loss among their total of 46 tackles. Notably, Derwin James Jr. showcased his defensive skills with one sack contributing to those statistics and Khalil Mack also added another sack to his career tally.


On offense, Justin Herbert completed 12 out of 18 passing attempts for 125 yards and threw one touchdown pass, which was caught by Quentin Johnston for a notable play that spanned 27 yards into the end zone. However, Herbert was also sacked five times throughout the game which significantly impacted the Chargers' offensive flow.

The rushing game saw J.K. Dobbins carrying most of the workload with 44 yards on 15 attempts but struggled against Pittsburgh's stout defense line managing an average just under three yards per carry.


Special teams had moments of brilliance as well; Cameron Dicker successfully converted a field goal from 28 yards out while JK Scott punted seven times averaging over fifty yards per punt which included three punts landing inside Pittsburgh's twenty-yard line.
