Rams Eke Out Narrow Victory Over Cowboys in Season Opener at SoFi

In a closely contested season opener at SoFi Stadium, the Los Angeles Rams edged out the Dallas Cowboys with a final score of 13-12. The Rams now stand at 1-0 for the season, while the Cowboys fall to 0-1. A game that was largely defined by its defensive plays and strategic field positioning saw both teams fighting hard until the last whistle.

The Los Angeles Rams showcased a balanced offensive and defensive effort throughout the game. Quarterback Stetson Bennett completed 63 percent of his passes, throwing for 224 yards with one touchdown and four interceptions. Despite these turnovers, Bennett's ability to maintain composure under pressure contributed significantly to keeping the Rams in contention.


On the ground, running back Boston Scott led with an impressive performance, rushing for 68 yards on 15 attempts, averaging over four yards per carry. His agility and ability to find gaps in the Cowboys' defense were crucial in advancing the ball downfield. Zach Evans also contributed with 28 rushing yards on twelve carries, helping diversify the Rams' attack.

The receiving corps was led by Jordan Whittington who racked up 74 receiving yards on six receptions. His longest catch of thirty yards was one of several key plays that set up scoring opportunities for Los Angeles. Miller Forristall made his mark by catching a touchdown pass which contributed directly to their narrow victory.


Defensively, Anthony Goodlow stood out by recording one sack and contributing to a total of three sacks against Dallas quarterbacks which resulted in sixteen lost yards for Dallas. The defense as a whole forced eight quarterback hits demonstrating their relentless pressure throughout the game.

Special teams played an equally pivotal role with Joshua Karty successfully converting two field goals including a long of thirty-nine yards which ultimately proved decisive in this tightly contested match-up.
