Los Angeles Rams at State Farm Stadium: Did Special Teams Make the Difference?

The Los Angeles Rams faced a challenging game against the Arizona Cardinals, culminating in a 10-41 loss. This outcome leaves the Rams with a 0-2 record for the season, while the Cardinals improved to 1-1. Despite this setback, several performances and statistics stand out from the game.

Special Teams Spotlight

Ethan Evans, punting for the Rams, showcased his skills with a total of 215 yards across four attempts. His longest punt flew for an impressive 63 yards, contributing significantly to his average of approximately 54 yards per punt. Notably, two of his punts landed inside the 20-yard line, demonstrating precision alongside power.

Defensive Efforts and Offensive Struggles

On defense, Kobie Turner made an impact by recording one sack and adding another tackle for loss (TFL), accumulating eight sack yards in total. Christian Rozeboom led in tackles among highlighted players with four solo efforts but couldn't prevent Arizona's offense from racking up points.

Offensively, quarterback Matthew Stafford completed nearly 70 percent of his passes for a total of 216 yards but failed to find the end zone through air attacks. The rushing game saw Kyren Williams as its most productive back with one touchdown on twenty-five rushing yards over twelve carries; however, this effort was overshadowed by Arizona's dominant performance.

Looking Ahead

The Los Angeles Rams will look to regroup as they host their next game against the San Francisco 49ers at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on September 22nd at 4:25 PM EDT. Fans can catch all action live on FOX as both teams vie for victory early in their season campaigns.
