New England Patriots Edge Out Buffalo Bills at Gillette Stadium in Week 7 Showdown

In a closely contested matchup, the New England Patriots improved their season record to 2-5 with a hard-fought victory over the Buffalo Bills, who now stand at 4-3. The final score read 29-25 in favor of the home team at Foxborough's Gillette Stadium.

The Patriots' offense was firing on all cylinders as they amassed a total of 364 yards. The passing game was particularly effective, with an impressive completion rate of 83 percent for a total of 272 yards and two touchdowns. The longest pass completed stretched for 34 yards, contributing significantly to the team's average gain per play of nearly seven yards. On the ground, New England managed to secure an additional 96 rushing yards which included one rushing touchdown from within two yards out.


Special teams also played a pivotal role in this victory; field goal kickers were perfect on the day, converting all three attempts with the longest being from just shy of midfield at 49 yards. This contributed nine crucial points to New England's tally.

Defensively, New England showed tenacity by forcing one interception and recovering one fumble while registering six quarterback hits and securing one sack that resulted in seven lost yardage for Buffalo. They also made sure to tighten up when it mattered most by successfully stopping four third-down attempts by their opponents.


On Buffalo's side, despite falling short on points, they showed resilience throughout the game. Their punting unit performed well under pressure with an average net yardage over fifty per punt and placing both attempts inside New England's twenty-yard line.
