Will the Philadelphia Eagles Outmaneuver the Arizona Cardinals in Their Final 2023 Battle?

As the Philadelphia Eagles prepare to host the Arizona Cardinals at Lincoln Financial Field, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be a riveting end-of-year clash. The Eagles have had a rollercoaster of performances leading up to this game, and their recent outings offer insights into what we might expect on December 31st.

In Week 16 against the New York Giants, the Eagles showcased their offensive prowess with a total of 465 yards and an average gain of six yards per play. Their rushing attack was particularly impressive, amassing 170 yards and averaging five yards per carry. This ground dominance is likely to be a key factor against the Cardinals, who will need to brace themselves for an Eagles team that knows how to exploit weaknesses in defensive lines.

However, it wasn't just their offense that shone; defensively, they forced two turnovers and recorded one interception. The defense's ability to disrupt plays was evident as they managed six quarterback hits and four tackles for loss. These statistics should serve as a warning sign for Arizona's offense.

Despite these strong points, there are areas where Philadelphia needs improvement. In their Week 15 game against Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field, they suffered from inefficiencies in passing with two interceptions thrown and only nine first downs achieved through air attacks. Moreover, penalties seem to be an Achilles' heel for PHI; they racked up five penalties amounting to 40 penalty yards during this matchup.

The most concerning performance came in Week 14 when facing off against Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium where three lost fumbles contributed significantly to their defeat. The turnover battle is crucial in any NFL game; hence it's imperative that PHI tightens its ball security going into this upcoming game.

Looking ahead towards facing ARI at home turf gives PHI an edge considering their strong record at Lincoln Financial Field this season. With ARI coming into town on New Year’s Eve day – emotions will undoubtedly run high – but if recent form is anything by which we can predict outcomes then fans should feel cautiously optimistic about ending the year on a high note.

Eagles enthusiasts can catch all the action live on FOX starting at 1:00 PM Eastern Time (ET) on December 31st from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia – ensuring no one misses out on what could potentially be one of the most memorable games of the season.
