Eagles Dominate Bengals in Cincinnati, Defense and Hurts Shine

The Philadelphia Eagles secured a commanding victory over the Cincinnati Bengals with a final score of 37-17. This win improved the Eagles' record to 5-2, showcasing their prowess on both sides of the ball. The Bengals, on the other hand, fell to a 3-5 record after struggling to find their rhythm against a relentless Eagles defense.

Key Performances and Game Highlights

The Eagles' offense was in fine form, with quarterback Jalen Hurts leading by example. Hurts completed an impressive 80 percent of his passes for 236 yards and added one touchdown pass to his tally without succumbing to any interceptions. His connection with wide receiver DeVonta Smith was particularly noteworthy; Smith tallied up 85 receiving yards on six receptions, including a spectacular longest catch of 45 yards that resulted in a touchdown.

On the ground, running back Saquon Barkley made significant contributions as well. Barkley rushed for 108 yards across 22 attempts, averaging nearly five yards per carry. Although he didn't find the end zone himself, his efforts were crucial in maintaining balanced offensive pressure that kept the Bengals' defense guessing.

Defensively, the Eagles were just as dominant. They recorded one sack and four quarterback hits throughout the game while forcing two fumbles—one each by Zack Baun and Brandon Graham—and recovering one thanks to linebacker Nakobe Dean's alert playmaking. Safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson added an interception to his season stats, further stifling any momentum swings in favor of Cincinnati.

Special Teams Impact

Special teams also played a pivotal role in this comprehensive team victory. Kicker Jake Elliott was perfect on the day, converting all three field goal attempts with his longest being from 49 yards out—contributing nine points to Philadelphia's total score alone.
