Steelers Dominate Jets with Ground and Air Assault at Acrisure Stadium

In a commanding display of football, the Pittsburgh Steelers improved their season record to 5-2 after a decisive victory over the New York Jets, who fell to 2-5. The final score stood at 37-15 in favor of the home team, showcasing the Steelers' dominance on both sides of the ball.

Game Highlights


The Steelers' offense was firing on all cylinders, amassing a total of 409 yards. Quarterback Russell Wilson led the aerial attack with precision, completing 16 out of 29 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns. His performance earned him an impressive passer rating of 109.0. Wilson's connection with wide receiver George Pickens was particularly lethal; Pickens racked up 111 receiving yards on five catches, including a spectacular touchdown.


On the ground, running back Najee Harris spearheaded Pittsburgh's rushing game with an outstanding performance, tallying up 102 yards and finding the end zone once across his 21 carries. His longest run stretched for an impressive 34 yards, highlighting his ability to break through defenses.

The defense also played a pivotal role in securing this win for the Steelers. They limited the Jets to just two field goals and one touchdown throughout four quarters while forcing three turnovers that included two interceptions by cornerback Beanie Bishop Jr., totaling return yardage of 41 yards off those picks.


Special Teams Excellence


Special teams contributed significantly to Pittsburgh's victory as well. Kicker Chris Boswell was perfect on the day, converting all three field goal attempts with his longest being from 46 yards out. Additionally, punter Corliss Waitman had a busy day but excelled by pinning three punts inside the Jets' twenty-yard line out of four attempts.
