Was the Pittsburgh Steelers' Offensive Firepower Enough to Overcome the Cincinnati Bengals?

In a high-scoring affair that kept fans on the edge of their seats, the Pittsburgh Steelers emerged victorious over the Cincinnati Bengals with a final score of 44-38. This victory improved the Steelers' record to 9-3, while the Bengals fell to 4-8 for the season. The game, held at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, was witnessed by a crowd of 66,112 attendees who were treated to an offensive showcase from both teams.

Steelers' Offensive Showcase


The Steelers' offense was firing on all cylinders, amassing a total of 520 yards. Quarterback Russell Wilson led this charge with an impressive performance, throwing for 414 yards and three touchdowns on a completion rate of 76 percent. His longest pass went for 43 yards and he managed an average of nearly 11 yards per attempt. Wilson's connection with his receivers was evident as George Pickens hauled in three receptions for 74 yards and one touchdown, showcasing his ability to be a difference-maker on the field.


On the ground, Najee Harris contributed significantly with 75 rushing yards on sixteen attempts and found his way into the end zone once. His longest run spanned twenty yards as he consistently moved chains for his team. Cordarrelle Patterson also added value with sixteen rushing yards over three carries.

Defensive Efforts and Special Teams


The defensive unit played its part by applying pressure throughout the game which resulted in four sacks against Bengals quarterbacks and eleven quarterback hits overall. T.J. Watt stood out defensively with two sacks and three tackles for loss among his contributions that disrupted Bengals’ offensive plans.


Special teams had their moments too; Chris Boswell successfully converted three out of four field goal attempts including one from fifty yards out contributing nine points to Pittsburgh's total score.
