Steelers and Seahawks Set to Clash at Lumen Field in Season Finale Showdown

As the Seattle Seahawks prepare to host the Pittsburgh Steelers at Lumen Field on December 31st, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be a riveting season finale. The Seahawks, coming off a nail-biting 20-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans just last week, have shown resilience and an ability to close out tight games—a trait that could prove crucial against Pittsburgh.

The recent performance of the Seahawks' defense has been particularly noteworthy. With six sacks and ten tackles for loss against Tennessee, they've demonstrated a fierce pass rush that could spell trouble for the Steelers' offensive line. The defense's ability to force turnovers will be key; although they didn't manage any interceptions in their last outing, their pressure on quarterbacks has been consistent.

Offensively, Seattle's passing game looks robust. Completing 69 percent of their passes for 227 yards and two touchdowns without an interception is no small feat. This level of efficiency through the air is something that Pittsburgh's secondary will need to contend with seriously if they hope to keep the scoreline in check.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing against Tennessee; Seattle’s running game struggled somewhat, averaging only three yards per carry. To secure a win against Pittsburgh, establishing a more dominant ground game will be essential—something they managed better earlier in December when they racked up 100 rushing yards against Philadelphia.

Special teams also deserve recognition as field goal kicking has been spot-on recently with a perfect record over the past two games. Reliable kicking can often be the difference-maker in close matchups like these.

The Steelers won't make it easy though—they're known for their gritty playstyle and have historically given Seattle tough competition. But based on recent performances by both teams and considering this game is at home where fan support at Lumen Field is second-to-none—the scales seem tipped slightly in favor of SEA.

Fans should expect an intense battle as both teams vie for victory before heading into offseason reflections or playoff preparations depending on where they stand post-game. It’s going down at Lumen Field on December 31st at 1:05 PM local time (4:05 PM ET). Those unable to attend can catch all the action live on FOX—don’t miss what promises to be one of the most exciting games as we bid farewell to another thrilling year of football!
