Can the Seattle Seahawks' Defense and Special Teams Outshine the Arizona Cardinals Again?

In a hard-fought contest at Lumen Field, the Seattle Seahawks improved their season record to 6-5 with a 16-6 victory over the Arizona Cardinals. Defensive Dominance

The Seahawks' defense was nothing short of spectacular, recording five sacks and seven quarterback hits, which significantly disrupted the Cardinals' offensive flow. Leonard Williams stood out with 2.5 sacks and three tackles for loss, contributing to a total loss of 18 yards for the Cardinals. This defensive prowess limited Arizona's scoring opportunities and played a pivotal role in maintaining Seattle's lead throughout the game.

Coby Bryant also made headlines with an interception return for a touchdown, covering 69 yards. This play not only highlighted Bryant's skill but also underscored the defensive unit's ability to convert turnovers into points directly—a factor that proved decisive in widening the gap between the two teams.

Special Teams Impact

On special teams, Michael Dickson punted five times for 218 yards, pinning down Arizona inside their own 20-yard line on three occasions. Such performance ensured that Arizona had to cover significant ground on their possessions, further emphasizing Seattle’s strategic gameplay.

Jason Myers contributed significantly as well by successfully converting a field goal from 50 yards out—his longest of the game—which added crucial points on board for Seattle.

Offensive Efforts

Offensively, Geno Smith completed 22 out of his 31 pass attempts for a total of 254 yards and threw one touchdown pass. His connection with Jaxon Smith-Njigba was particularly effective; Njigba caught six passes for 77 yards and scored one touchdown. The rushing attack added another dimension to Seattle’s offense with Kenneth Walker III leading in rushing yards at 41 from sixteen carries.

Despite facing pressure from Arizona’s defense which resulted in five sacks against Smith, Seattle managed an overall balanced attack contributing towards their win.

Looking ahead, fans can catch up on more action as The Seahawks are scheduled to face off against New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on December 1st at1:00 PM EDT broadcasted live on FOX network channels.
