Tampa Bay Buccaneers Dominate Dolphins 24-14 in Preseason Showdown

In a captivating preseason showdown during Week 3, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers notched another win to their record by outplaying the Miami Dolphins with a solid 24-14 victory at Raymond James Stadium. Demonstrating strength and coordination on both offense and defense, the Buccaneers amassed an impressive total of 290 yards while keeping their penalties to a minimal five for 35 yards. Their defensive unit shone brightly, forcing two turnovers and executing key stops that effectively kept the Dolphins' advances in check.

The Buccaneers' offensive strategy was marked by efficiency as quarterbacks Kyle Trask and Baker Mayfield collectively threw for an impressive 195 yards and two touchdowns. Trask hit his targets with remarkable precision, completing 70 percent of his throws for 141 yards and two touchdowns. Rachaad White emerged as a notable performer in this area, finding the end zone once among his four carries for sixteen yards.


Jake Camarda's punting played a pivotal role in the battle for field position dominance. With three punts totaling an imposing 127 yards—and one landing inside the twenty-yard line—Camarda's efforts were crucial in setting up advantageous defensive positions.

On defense, Chris Braswell made waves with one sack among Tampa Bay's four tackles for loss in what was overall a staunch defensive display that included limiting Miami to just ten percent on third down conversions. Antonio Grier Jr.'s interception underscored Tampa Bay's knack for seizing upon opponents' errors.


The receiving corps saw contributions from multiple players; Cody Thompson led with seven catches amassing forty-five yards which proved vital in sustaining drives at key moments throughout the match. Tanner Knue also left his mark by hauling in two passes including one touchdown that further bolstered Tampa Bay’s advantage.

Special teams were not left behind as Chase McLaughlin’s accuracy shone through; he flawlessly executed all three extra-point opportunities along with drilling a fifty-one-yard field goal demonstrating both precision and strength from distance.
