The Buccaneers' defense was pivotal in securing this victory, showcasing their ability to halt the Lions' advances effectively. Among the standout players on defense, Christian Izien made significant contributions with one interception and two passes defended, adding depth to the team's defensive prowess. Zyon McCollum also made his presence felt with an interception and four passes defended, further stifling the Lions' offensive efforts.


On offense, Baker Mayfield played a crucial role in navigating the Buccaneers towards victory. Mayfield completed 12 out of 19 attempts for 185 yards, throwing one touchdown pass and achieving an impressive average of ten yards per completion. His connection with Chris Godwin was particularly noteworthy; Godwin racked up 117 receiving yards on seven receptions and scored one touchdown.

The rushing game added another dimension to Tampa Bay's offense. Although not explosive, it contributed essential yardage that kept drives alive. Bucky Irving led this effort with 22 rushing yards over seven attempts.

Special teams played a critical role in this contest as well. Chase McLaughlin was perfect on the day, converting both field goal attempts including a long of 55 yards which added crucial points for Tampa Bay.

Jake Camarda’s punting was instrumental in controlling field position throughout the game. He punted five times for a total of 230 yards and managed to place two punts inside Detroit's twenty-yard line which significantly impacted field position battles.
