Buccaneers Sail Past Raiders, Charting Course for Playoff Dreams

In a pivotal Week 14 matchup at Raymond James Stadium, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers improved their season record to 7-6 with a commanding 28-13 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders. The win keeps playoff hopes alive and kicking for the Buccaneers as they navigate through the latter part of the season. The Raiders, on the other hand, find themselves in troubled waters with a 2-11 record, as their chances of postseason play continue to fade.

Key Performances on Both Sides


The Buccaneers' offense was firing on all cylinders, amassing a total of 420 yards. Quarterback Baker Mayfield led from the front, throwing for 295 yards with an impressive completion rate of 62 percent and contributing three touchdowns to his team's tally. His performance was complemented by Rachaad White's ground game; White rushed for 90 yards and scored once out of his team's total rushing yardage of 152.


On receiving duties, Jalen McMillan stood out with two touchdown receptions contributing significantly to his team’s scoreline. Meanwhile, Cade Otton and Mike Evans also made notable contributions through air gaining substantial yardage that kept drives alive.


Defensively, Lavonte David made headlines not just for his sack but also recovering a fumble which turned out pivotal in halting one of many Raiders' advances. Tykee Smith’s interception further exemplified Tampa Bay’s defensive resilience by adding another turnover to their stats which played a crucial role in maintaining their lead.


The Raiders struggled to find consistency throughout the game. Despite managing two touchdowns and one field goal attempt successfully executed by Daniel Carlson from within close range early in the second quarter which momentarily gave them hope.
