Titans Clash with Texans in Season Finale at NRG Stadium

As the Tennessee Titans prepare to face off against the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium, fans are bracing for what could be a defining moment for their team. The Titans have had a tumultuous season, but there's reason to believe that they can end it on a high note.

Looking back at the Titans' recent performance on December 24 against the Seattle Seahawks, despite falling short by three points with a final score of 17-20, there were flashes of brilliance that could be harnessed in their upcoming game. The rushing game was particularly strong, amassing 162 yards and averaging five yards per carry. This ground dominance is something the Titans will want to replicate against the Texans' defense.

The passing game also showed promise; while only one touchdown was thrown and six sacks were given up, quarterback play yielded an impressive completion percentage of 70 percent for 164 yards. If protection holds up better this time around and those sack numbers decrease, TEN has an opportunity to control the air as well as they do on turf.

Defensively speaking, TEN's performance has been more than solid. With three sacks and six tackles for loss against Seattle, they've shown they can disrupt plays and pressure quarterbacks effectively. This defensive prowess will need to shine through once again if they're going to keep Houston's offense in check.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing; penalties proved costly with ten infractions setting them back by 97 yards. Discipline will be key in avoiding these self-inflicted wounds come game day.

The Texans aren't without their strengths either — their victory over TEN earlier this season by a narrow margin (19-16) on December 17 is testament to that fact. But considering both teams' trajectories since then — including TEN's close win over Miami Dolphins (28-27) on December 12 — suggests that Tennessee might just have enough momentum and lessons learned from past mistakes to turn things around this time.

In conclusion, while it would be easy to count out Tennessee based on their record alone (5 wins -10 losses), doing so would ignore the potential seen in flashes throughout their games. With improved discipline and capitalizing on offensive opportunities while maintaining defensive intensity, there’s every chance that Tennessee can leave Houston with heads held high.

The showdown is scheduled for December 31st at NRG Stadium in Houston at 1:00 PM EST/12:00 PM CST local time. Fans eager not to miss any action should tune into FOX where live coverage of this thrilling encounter will unfold.
