Tennessee Titans Overpowered by Detroit Lions in High-Scoring Affair

In a week 8 showdown that saw the Tennessee Titans fall to the Detroit Lions with a final score of 14-52, both teams displayed moments of brilliance and struggle. The Titans, now standing at a 1-7 record, faced off against a formidable Lions team that improved their season to 6-1. Despite the challenging game, several players from the Titans managed standout performances.

Key Performances on Both Sides


The Tennessee Titans' offense had moments of efficiency, particularly in their rushing game which amassed 158 yards over 32 attempts, averaging an impressive 5 yards per carry. Tony Pollard led this effort with 94 rushing yards on 20 carries. Mason Rudolph, under center for the Titans, threw for 266 yards and one touchdown but was also intercepted twice. Calvin Ridley emerged as Rudolph's top target with an impressive haul of 143 receiving yards on ten receptions.


On special teams, Ryan Stonehouse punted six times for the Titans with two landing inside the opponent's twenty-yard line. His punts totaled an impressive distance but ultimately contributed to a field position battle that favored neither side decisively.

Defensively, Jeffery Simmons and Arden Key were bright spots for Tennessee; Simmons recorded one sack and two tackles for loss while Key added two sacks and forced one fumble in his defensive efforts.
