Tennessee Titans Stumble at Mile High: Broncos' Defense Steals the Show in Denver Clash

First Quarter

The opening quarter saw both teams testing each other's defenses. The Titans struggled to gain momentum on offense, with quarterback Cam Ward completing only 43 percent of his passes for a total of 112 yards throughout the game. Despite this, Tony Pollard made an impressive catch for a gain of 29 yards, showcasing his potential as a key player for Tennessee.

Second Quarter

As the second quarter unfolded, it became evident that penalties were hindering the Two-Tone Blue's progress. With 13 penalties resulting in significant yardage loss and six first downs awarded to Denver through penalties alone, discipline issues plagued Tennessee's efforts.

Third Quarter

In defense, Jeffery Simmons stood out by recording one sack and four quarterback hits. His performance was crucial in keeping pressure on Denver's offense. However, despite forcing two interceptions by Xavier Woods and Roger McCreary during critical moments of play, these turnovers did not translate into points for Tennessee.

Fourth Quarter

The final quarter highlighted Joey Slye’s consistent kicking ability as he successfully converted all four field goal attempts from various distances up to 50 yards. Yet without touchdowns from either passing or rushing plays—despite multiple red zone opportunities—the Titans could not close the gap against an effective Orange Crush defense that capitalized on every mistake made by their opponents.
