In an evenly matched contest, both teams displayed resilience and determination. The Ducks' offense was particularly effective on power plays, converting two opportunities into goals out of four chances. Their shooting accuracy was notable as they managed to score four goals from 29 shots, translating to a shooting percentage of 14 percent. This offensive efficiency was complemented by their goaltender's performance who made 32 saves with a save percentage of 91 percent.

The Ducks showed physicality throughout the match with a total of 27 hits and were able to block as many shots as they took – both figures standing at 18. Despite being outdone in faceoffs – winning only about 42 percent compared to the Coyotes' roughly 58 percent – they maintained composure and capitalized on scoring opportunities.

On the other side, despite taking more shots (35), the Coyotes found it challenging to get past the Ducks' defense and goaltender. They scored three goals but couldn't manage any during their power plays from five shots taken. Their penalty minutes totaled at an imposing number -25-, which may have disrupted their rhythm on ice.

The game reached its peak when it extended into overtime after both teams were locked in a tie post third period. It was here that Anaheim showcased their tenacity by netting an overtime goal from two attempts while also providing one assist during this critical phase.
