The game at Crypto.com Arena saw the Anaheim Ducks put up a valiant effort against their hosts, the Los Angeles Kings. Despite their determination, they were outplayed in several key aspects of the match. The Ducks managed to fire off 16 shots throughout the game but only found success once, translating to a shooting percentage of six percent. Their lone goal came during an even-strength play in the second period.

On defense, Anaheim's goaltender faced an onslaught from Los Angeles' offense with 40 shots directed his way. He made an impressive total of 36 saves for a save percentage of ninety percent; however, four slipped past him over three periods. The defensive squad also contributed by blocking twenty-five shots from reaching their netminder.

In terms of physicality and puck control, both teams were neck-and-neck with Anaheim delivering twenty hits and winning forty-two percent of faceoffs – just shy under half – while committing five penalties amounting to ten penalty minutes. However, they struggled on power plays as they failed to capitalize on any of their three opportunities despite taking four shots during these advantages.

The Kings showcased strong offensive capabilities by scoring four goals on forty attempts which gave them a ten percent shooting accuracy rate and securing twelve points from those efforts including eight assists. They also had better luck in faceoff circles winning fifty-seven percent and capitalized on one out of three powerplay chances which proved crucial in building their lead early on with three goals scored in just the first period alone.
