At the Honda Center, home to the Ducks, fans witnessed an intense match-up against the Arizona Coyotes. Despite a strong start by both teams in the first period where neither managed to score, it was during the second period that action picked up. The Coyotes broke through with two goals against Anaheim's defense. The home team struggled to find their rhythm and failed to answer back before heading into the third period.

In an attempt to rally back into contention, Anaheim showcased determination and skill as they finally lit up their side of the scoreboard with two goals in quick succession during third-period play. Their offensive push was highlighted by one powerplay goal out of seven opportunities and another during even strength play from twenty-six shots on goal.

Anaheim's goaltender faced seventeen shots throughout the game but could only turn away thirteen attempts resulting in four goals against; three of those came at even strength while one slipped through during penalty kill circumstances. On offense, they managed thirty-five shots but were hindered by a low shooting percentage of six percent overall.

The Ducks' physical presence was felt as they delivered sixteen hits compared to just four from their opponents and blocked eleven shots defensively. They also dominated faceoffs winning fifty-nine percent over forty-one percent won by Arizona which provided them more control over puck possession.

Despite these efforts and leading in several statistical categories such as faceoff wins (thirty-two) and powerplay chances (seven), it wasn't enough for Anaheim who ultimately fell short when time expired on regulation play.
