Ducks Set to Glide into Ottawa for a Frigid Showdown at Canadian Tire Centre

As the Anaheim Ducks prepare to face off against the Ottawa Senators at the Canadian Tire Centre, fans are bracing for what promises to be an enthralling encounter. The Ducks, who have shown both flashes of brilliance and moments of vulnerability in recent games, will be looking to assert their dominance on foreign ice.

The Ducks' performance has been a mixed bag as of late. Their most recent game on December 24th against the Seattle Kraken ended in a narrow defeat with a scoreline of 3-2. Despite outshooting the Kraken with 34 attempts on goal compared to Seattle's 22, it was not enough to secure victory. The powerplay opportunities were there for Anaheim; however, they only managed to convert one out of three chances.

In contrast, during their December 19th game against the Detroit Red Wings at Little Caesars Arena, Anaheim showcased their offensive prowess by netting four goals from just 22 shots – an impressive shooting percentage of 18 percent. This victory was built on strong even-strength play and effective use of powerplay opportunities.

However, consistency remains an issue for ANA as evidenced by their game against Calgary Flames on December 22nd where they failed to score despite having four powerplay chances and racking up a total of 25 shots. The Flames' aggressive offense put up three goals and capitalized heavily on their own powerplays which ultimately led them to victory over ANA.

Looking ahead at the upcoming match-up with OTT, it is crucial that ANA leverages its strengths while addressing its shortcomings in special teams play and shot conversion rates. The Senators will not make things easy; they are known for being tenacious opponents especially when backed by their home crowd energy.

The Ducks must focus on maintaining puck possession and winning faceoffs – areas where they have excelled previously but also struggled inconsistently. With faceoff win percentages swinging from as high as 62 percent down to more concerning figures around the mid-40s range in recent games, establishing control early could be key in setting the tempo against OTT.

Defensively speaking, goaltending will also play a pivotal role if ANA wishes to skate away with two points from this encounter. A solid performance between the pipes can provide that much-needed backbone for any team looking to succeed away from home.

Fans eager not only for victory but also an exciting display should mark February 16th in their calendars when these two teams collide under Ottawa's bright lights at precisely midnight UTC (7:00 PM EST). Those unable or unwilling brave cold can catch action live ESPN+, BSSC channel number or BSSD channel number depending upon location ensuring no one misses moment what promises be thrilling battle between these conference rivals.
