Ducks and Blue Jackets: Who Will Triumph at Honda Center?

As the Anaheim Ducks prepare to face off against the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Honda Center, fans are eager to see if their team can capitalize on their recent performance trends. The Ducks have had a mixed bag of results in their past games, but there's reason for cautious optimism as they return to home ice.

In their last match-up on December 24th against the Seattle Kraken, the Ducks fell short with a final score of 2-3. Despite this loss, there were positive takeaways; notably, they won 62 percent of faceoffs and had a powerplay goal out of three opportunities. However, they'll need to tighten up defensively after giving away 17 times and allowing three goals.

The game before that was even more challenging for ANA when they faced the Calgary Flames on December 22nd. They were shut out with zero points scored while conceding three goals. The Ducks' penalty kill was put to work as they faced seven powerplays against them but managed an impressive feat by not allowing any powerplay goals thanks to an outstanding goaltending performance with a save percentage rounding up to 100 percent.

However, it's not all doom and gloom for ANA fans. Looking back at their game on December 19th against the Detroit Red Wings provides some hope. The Ducks came out strong with four points scored in an away game victory where they showed significant offensive prowess by scoring four goals from just 22 shots – an impressive shooting percentage of around 18 percent.

The key for ANA in this upcoming game will be replicating that offensive efficiency while shoring up their defense and maintaining discipline to avoid costly penalties. With Columbus coming into town, it's crucial that Anaheim leverages its home advantage – something that has been beneficial for them in past performances.

The Blue Jackets should not be underestimated though; every NHL team has potential game-changers who can turn things around quickly if given space or opportunity. Therefore, it is essential for ANA’s players like those who contributed significantly during their win over Detroit – both offensively and defensively – to step up once again.

Looking ahead at February 22nd's clash between these two teams promises excitement as both sides vie for dominance on Anaheim’s home turf at Honda Center starting at 7:00 PM PST (10:00 PM EST). Fans can catch all the action live nationally via ESPN+ or locally through BSOH channel number 660 if you're cheering from Columbus territory.
