Ducks Set to Clash with Blue Jackets at Honda Center

As the Anaheim Ducks prepare to host the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Honda Center, fans can expect an intriguing matchup. The Ducks have shown a mixed bag of results in their recent outings, and they will be looking to capitalize on their home-ice advantage.

In their last game against the Seattle Kraken, despite a strong faceoff win percentage of 62 percent and converting one out of three powerplays, the Ducks fell short with a final scoreline reflecting a narrow defeat. Their shooting accuracy stood at 6 percent from 34 shots, indicating that while they were able to generate opportunities, finding the back of the net proved challenging.

The previous encounter with Calgary Flames exposed some defensive vulnerabilities for Anaheim. They allowed three goals on 44 shots but managed an impressive save percentage thanks to their goaltender's performance. However, they failed to capitalize on any of their four powerplay chances and suffered from penalty troubles which saw them spend significant time shorthanded.

On a brighter note, when visiting Detroit Red Wings earlier in December, Anaheim showcased offensive prowess by scoring four goals from just 22 shots – an impressive shooting percentage of 18 percent. They also demonstrated resilience in penalty killing situations by saving all but one shot during shorthanded periods.

The upcoming game against Columbus presents an opportunity for Anaheim Ducks to refine their special teams' play both offensively and defensively while continuing to leverage strong goaltending performances. With home advantage at Honda Center where fan support is always fervent, it's crucial for them to establish early momentum and maintain discipline throughout all three periods.

Fans can catch this exciting NHL action live on February 22nd at 7:00 PM PST either through ESPN+ online or BSOH channel 660 for local TV coverage.
