Anaheim Ducks Edge Out in Shootout, Fall to St. Louis Blues 6-5 at Honda Center

The Anaheim Ducks faced off against the St. Louis Blues in a closely contested match that ended with a final score of 6-5. The Ducks now stand with an overall record of 34-20-9, while the Blues improved to 40-18-7.

The game at Honda Center saw the home team Ducks put up a valiant effort, but ultimately fall short in a shootout. Despite outshooting the Blues with 38 attempts to their 31, and matching them on goals scored during regulation and overtime, it was the single shootout goal that tipped the balance in favor of St. Louis.


Anaheim's performance was marked by resilience as they rallied from behind multiple times throughout the game. The powerplay unit capitalized on opportunities scoring twice from just two shots during man advantages, demonstrating clinical efficiency when it mattered most. Their tenacity was further highlighted by their comeback in the third period where they scored three goals to push the game into overtime.

On defense, Anaheim's goaltender saved all but five of St. Louis' shots during regulation and overtime play but unfortunately couldn't stop any of their attempts during the decisive shootout phase which included one goal allowed from two shots faced.


The Ducks showcased physicality with a total of 21 hits over their opponents' 16 and blocked nearly as many shots as they took themselves – recording twelve blocks against thirteen by St. Louis players.

The Anaheim Ducks will next take on local rivals Los Angeles Kings at Honda Center on April 10th at 7:00 PM Pacific Time (PT).
