In their last outing on January 3rd against the Florida Panthers, ARI faced a tough defeat with a final score of 4-1. Despite this loss, there were positive takeaways for the team. The goaltending was particularly strong; ARI's netminder saved 34 out of 37 shots on goal during even strength play and all nine shots while shorthanded. However, their offensive efforts fell short as they only managed one goal from twenty-two shots.

The powerplay opportunities for ARI were scarce in that game – only two chances – and they failed to capitalize on either. This is an area where they must improve if they hope to succeed against NYI. On a brighter note, their penalty kill was effective; not only did they prevent any goals but also scored shorthanded.

Looking back further to December 30th when ARI played Anaheim Ducks away from home, it was a different story altogether with ARI securing a win with two goals from thirty-two shots and shutting out their opponents completely thanks to stellar goaltending that saved all twenty-eight shots faced.

The most impressive performance came on December 28th against Colorado Avalanche where ARI showcased their offensive prowess by scoring five goals from twenty-seven shots which included an overtime winner – demonstrating that when clicking offensively, this team can compete with high-caliber opponents.

Against NYI at home in Tempe's Mullett Arena, it will be crucial for ARI to harness that same offensive energy while maintaining solid defense and goaltending as seen in these past games. The Islanders will not make it easy; however, given that Arizona has shown flashes of brilliance recently suggests there is potential for them to come out on top if they play cohesively as a unit.

Fans should expect an intense battle where every shift counts and special teams could very well be the deciding factor in who emerges victorious. It’s imperative for Arizona Coyotes' players like those who stepped up during previous games - contributing crucial hits or blocking key attempts - continue doing so while others need step up offensively if victory is within reach.

The upcoming clash between these two teams is scheduled for January 5th at Mullett Arena starting at 9:00 PM local time (Mountain Standard Time). Fans can catch all the action live nationally via ESPN+ or locally through SCRIPPS network channels depending upon your location.
