The Bruins' performance was marked by an impressive offensive display, scoring four goals on 34 shots for an 11 percent shooting success rate. Their powerplay unit capitalized on opportunities, netting three goals from just four shots. The team's faceoff win percentage stood at 43 percent with 33 wins out of 76 attempts. Despite giving away six penalties for eight minutes, the Bruins managed to block seven shots and executed five takeaways.

Key players for the Boston Bruins included their goaltender who made crucial saves throughout the game, stopping 33 out of the total 37 shots faced which translated to an admirable save percentage of nearly 89 percent. In terms of scoring during regulation time, two goals were scored in both the second and third periods respectively.

On defense, despite conceding four goals against them during even strength play and having a minus-five plus-minus rating overall, they showed resilience by blocking a significant number of attempted shots from their opponents.

The New York Islanders put up a strong fight as well. They matched the intensity with four goals from their side on home ice but fell short in the shootout phase. Their powerplay efforts yielded two goals from six opportunities while they won more faceoffs than Boston with a winning percentage over 56 percent across all situations.
