At Mullett Arena in Tempe, Arizona, the Bruins opened the scoring with a goal in the first period and added another to their tally in the second. The Coyotes responded with two goals of their own in the second period to even out the score. Both teams found the back of the net once more during regular play, which led to overtime where Arizona ultimately clinched victory with an additional goal.

The Bruins' offense was active throughout, registering 33 shots on goal and converting three into scores. Their powerplay unit capitalized on two out of four opportunities thanks to their 57 percent faceoff win rate during those moments. The team's penalty kill was put to test only once and successfully kept their net untouched.

Defensively, Boston delivered 23 hits and blocked 13 shots while giving away possession thrice. Despite these efforts, they ended up with a minus-eight plus/minus rating for this game. The goaltending department saw plenty of action as well; they made an impressive total of 32 saves but allowed four goals against from a total of 36 shots by Arizona.

On special teams performance for both sides showed proficiency; however it was Boston's powerplay efficiency that stood out as they scored twice from nine shots taken during man advantages.

Looking ahead for fans eager to follow their team's progress: The Boston Bruins will next take on Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena located in Las Vegas on January 12th at 7:00 PM local time (10:00 PM EST).
