From the initial puck drop at TD Garden, the Bruins displayed an aggressive offense and an impenetrable defense. The home team's shooting percentage was a remarkable 20 percent as they managed to net five goals from just 25 shots. Their power play was particularly effective; out of five opportunities, two resulted in goals thanks to precise execution and teamwork.

The Bruins' goaltender deserves special mention for his outstanding performance between the pipes. He saved 35 shots with a perfect save percentage throughout the game, only allowing one goal which came during even-strength play. His efforts were pivotal in maintaining the lead that his teammates built early on.

On the other side of the ice, despite putting up more shots than their opponents with a total of 36 attempts on goal, Toronto's players found themselves stifled by Boston's defensive prowess. They managed to convert only one of these into a score during third-period even-strength play. Their powerplay unit failed to capitalize on any of their three chances as they faced off against Boston’s penalty kill specialists who were not willing to yield any ground.

Toronto's physical game was evident as they racked up 52 hits over three periods but it wasn't enough to intimidate or slow down Boston’s skaters who responded with equal vigor totaling 51 hits themselves. Faceoffs were another area where Boston showed superiority by winning 57 percent compared to Toronto's 43 percent success rate at the faceoff circle.
