The Calgary Flames showed commendable effort despite falling short. They managed three goals over regular play but couldn't find back netting during overtime despite having opportunities. Their powerplay unit managed to convert once out of three chances which is an area they might look into improving.

The Boston Bruins demonstrated superior puck control throughout most of the game which is reflected in their faceoff win percentage standing at 53 percent against Flames' 47 percent. This control allowed them more opportunities at goal attempts leading them to outshoot Calgary by a narrow margin.

Defensively both teams were solid but it was Joonas Korpisalo’s goaltending for Boston that truly made a difference; saving 34 shots out of 37 faced which translates into an impeccable save percentage rounding up to nearly perfect performance under pressure situations especially noted during shorthanded plays where he saved two critical shots.


Calgary's goaltender also had an impressive night between pipes saving 34 shots though ultimately conceding four goals including one during overtime which sealed their fate this time around.
