The Boston Bruins, with an 8-9-3 record, faced off against the Columbus Blue Jackets, holding a 7-9-2 record, in what turned out to be a tough game for the home team. Despite their efforts, the Bruins could only manage to score once against the Blue Jackets' five goals.

Game Highlights


The match started with the Blue Jackets establishing an early lead by scoring three goals in the first period. The Bruins responded with a single goal in the second period but failed to capitalize on their chances thereafter. The third period saw the Blue Jackets extend their lead by two more goals, sealing their victory over the Bruins.


From Boston's perspective, goaltender Jeremy Swayman was under siege throughout the game, facing 29 shots and making 24 saves. Despite his efforts, Swayman allowed five goals. On offense, Charlie Coyle managed to find the back of the net for Boston's lone goal of the night on one of his four shots.

Player Performances


Mason Lohrei and Justin Brazeau each contributed with an assist for Boston. Lohrei stood out defensively as well despite being on ice for four of Columbus' goals; he made significant contributions including takeaways and blocking attempts.


On Columbus' side, Elvis Merzlikins was awarded one of three stars of the game due to his impressive performance between pipes; he saved 28 out of 29 shots from Boston. Sean Monahan and Zach Werenski also received star recognitions for their crucial roles in securing this win for Columbus.
