Game Highlights

The Bruins started strong, netting two goals in the first period and setting an aggressive pace. Despite their efforts and maintaining even strength throughout most of the game, they were unable to secure any more points in the subsequent periods or overtime. The team's performance was backed by solid goaltending from Jeremy Swayman who made 23 saves with a save percentage of 100 percent. On offense, Elias Lindholm and Mark Kastelic each contributed one goal to Boston's tally.

On defense, Brandon Carlo stood out with an assist and a plus-minus rating of +2 alongside Jordan Oesterle who also recorded a plus-minus rating of +2 for his defensive efforts. Nikita Zadorov led the team with six hits and two takeaways but had a challenging night with a minus-two rating.

Edmonton Oilers' Response

The Oilers responded to Boston's early lead by adjusting their gameplay and managed to score once in the second period followed by another goal in the third period to tie up the game. Their winning moment came during overtime when they scored their third goal sealing their victory at home. Mattias Ekholm was named one of the stars of the game for his defensive work that included crucial plays leading up to Edmonton's win.

Despite being outshot by Boston 26 shots to 26, Edmonton capitalized on their opportunities thanks largely to their goaltender’s impressive performance which included saving all but two shots aimed at him.
