First Period

The first period saw a strong start from the Senators, who managed to score twice while keeping the B’s at bay. Despite Boston's efforts, they were unable to find their rhythm early on. The Sens capitalized on their opportunities and took control of faceoffs with a win percentage of 62 percent.

Second Period

In response, Boston came back stronger in the second period with David Pastrnak leading an effective powerplay that resulted in their first goal of the night. Pastrnak's performance was notable as he contributed both a goal and an assist during this period. The Bruins showed resilience by tightening their defense and reducing giveaways compared to earlier play.

Third Period

As tensions rose in the third period, both teams ramped up their offensive strategies. The B’s managed two more goals but struggled defensively against Ottawa's aggressive attack which netted three goals including one into an empty net towards game end. Joonas Korpisalo made several key saves for Boston but ultimately faced challenges against Ottawa's high shooting accuracy of 23 percent.

Despite valiant efforts from players like Morgan Geekie who also scored and assisted once each, it wasn't enough to overcome Ottawa’s lead established early on. This match highlighted areas for improvement such as faceoff efficiency where Boston lagged behind with only a 38 percent success rate.
