Can the Buffalo Sabres Tame the Panthers at Amerant Bank Arena?

The Buffalo Sabres are gearing up for a challenging encounter against the Florida Panthers at Amerant Bank Arena. The upcoming game on February 28th is poised to be a significant test for the Sabres, who have had a rollercoaster of performances in their recent outings.

Looking back at their previous games, it's clear that consistency has been an issue for Buffalo. On February 16th, they faced off against these very Panthers and suffered a crushing defeat with no goals scored despite having 45 shots on goal. The defense was porous, allowing four goals and ending with a plus-minus of -16. However, it wasn't all doom and gloom as they managed to win 56 percent of faceoffs.

In stark contrast, just two days prior on February 14th against the Los Angeles Kings, the Sabres showcased what they're capable of when firing on all cylinders. They dominated with seven goals from just 24 shots – an impressive shooting percentage of 29 percent – while also blocking an imposing number of shots (25). Their goaltending was impeccable that night as well; not a single puck found its way past them out of the Kings' 33 attempts.

However, consistency is key in hockey and another previous game against St. Louis Blues on February 10th saw them fall short again with only one goal from their end compared to three by the Blues.

The question now is: which version of the Sabres will show up in Sunrise? If they can channel their performance from their victory over Los Angeles and tighten up defensively while maintaining strong goaltending, there's every chance they could walk away with two points this time around.

It won't be easy though; Florida's last encounter with BUF showed that they have firepower across periods and can capitalize on powerplay opportunities efficiently. Moreover, FLA's goaltender displayed formidable form by saving all shots faced during even-strength play.

For fans looking forward to this matchup between Buffalo Sabres and Florida Panthers – mark your calendars for February 28th at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise. The game will kick off at prime time under bright lights where every check counts double and every shot could turn into glory or dismay. Fans unable to attend can catch all action live via ESPN+ or Hulu as both networks are set to broadcast nationally.
