In a game that saw the Buffalo Sabres put up a valiant effort at Amerant Bank Arena, they ultimately fell short against the Florida Panthers. The Sabres opened the scoring in the first period but were quickly overtaken as the Panthers responded with two goals of their own. Despite this setback, Buffalo's resilience was on display as they managed to tie up proceedings by netting a powerplay goal.

Buffalo's performance was marked by an aggressive offensive push that yielded thirty shots on goal and two successful conversions for six points. On special teams play, while managing to keep one powerplay goal from crossing their line during penalty kills with seven saves out of nine shorthanded shots faced; it was ultimately two powerplay goals conceded that tipped the scales in favor of Florida.
