First Period


The opening period saw both teams testing each other's defenses. The Columbus Blue Jackets managed to break through first, scoring one goal and setting an early tone for the match. Despite several attempts by the Sabres, they were unable to find the back of the net during this period.

Third Period


In a tightly contested third period, both teams exchanged blows on offense and defense. Joshua Dunne stood out for Buffalo by adding another goal to his tally from previous games but it was not enough as Columbus matched them again with another goal of their own.


Overtime
