Sabres Slice Through Ducks with Quinn's Double Delight

The Buffalo Sabres emerged victorious against the Anaheim Ducks in a tightly contested game at KeyBank Center. The Sabres improved their record to 24-15-4, while the Ducks fell to 21-21-3. The final score was 5-3 in favor of the Sabres.

First Period


The opening period saw both teams testing each other's defenses, but it was the Blue and Gold who struck first. Jack Quinn opened the scoring for Buffalo, showcasing his sharp shooting skills early on. The Mighty Ducks struggled to find their rhythm and failed to capitalize on their opportunities.


Second Period


As play resumed, Anaheim tightened up defensively but couldn't prevent another goal from the Swords. Peyton Krebs contributed with an assist that set up Tage Thompson for a crucial goal, extending Buffalo's lead. Despite increased pressure from Anaheim, they were unable to break through Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen's solid goaltending.

Third Period


The final period turned into a high-scoring affair as both teams found their offensive stride. Jack Quinn added another goal for Buffalo, cementing his status as one of the game's standout performers. Although Anaheim managed to net three goals in this period through determined efforts by their forwards, it wasn't enough to overcome Buffalo's lead.


Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen stood tall between the pipes for Buffalo with 31 saves out of 34 shots faced, securing him as one of the stars of this matchup alongside teammates Jack Quinn and Tage Thompson.

In terms of team statistics, despite being outshot by Anaheim (34 shots), Buffalo demonstrated efficiency with a higher shooting percentage at 16 percent compared to Anaheim’s 9 percent.
