Calgary Flames Set to Host Seattle Kraken at Scotiabank Saddledome

As the Calgary Flames prepare to welcome the Seattle Kraken to the Scotiabank Saddledome, fans are buzzing with anticipation for what promises to be an electrifying match-up. The Flames have been on a tear lately, and their recent performance suggests they're not about to let up anytime soon.

In their last outing against the Vancouver Canucks on September 25th, the Flames dominated with a staggering 10-0 victory. Their offense was relentless, netting goals evenly throughout all three periods and boasting a shooting percentage of 38 percent. Equally impressive was their defense and goaltending which held firm with a perfect save percentage of 100 percent. This kind of two-way play has become a hallmark for Calgary this season.

The powerplay unit also clicked effectively, converting two out of six opportunities – an area that could once again prove pivotal against Seattle. Meanwhile, faceoff wins were split down the middle at 50 percent, indicating room for improvement in puck possession right from the drop.

Comparatively, in April's game against San Jose Sharks where they eked out a narrow victory with three goals to one point by San Jose, it's clear that consistency is key for CGY. They peppered San Jose's netminder with shots but only managed to convert on just over six percent – showing that volume doesn't always equate to success without precision.

Against Nashville Predators earlier in April during an intense shootout loss (2-3), CGY showcased resilience by pushing through overtime despite being outshot and slightly edged in faceoffs won. This tenacity will be crucial when facing SEA who are known for their competitive spirit.

The Kraken come into this game as underdogs but cannot be underestimated; any team can surge given the chance. However, based on past performances and current form, it would take something special from SEA to upset CGY at home where they've been particularly strong.

Looking ahead at this upcoming clash set for September 26th at 7:00 PM MDT in Calgary’s own fortress - Scotiabank Saddledome - fans should expect CGY’s offensive firepower and stalwart defending to carry them through yet another thrilling encounter as they continue their pursuit of excellence this season. For those unable or unwilling to miss this spectacle unfold live can catch all action via local broadcast networks or streaming services offering NHL games coverage.
